I ran the down and dirty 5k on JBLM. I warmed up for 2 miles before, when I started I was out into the lead pretty quick, the course was very confusing with lots of obstacles and mud. The first half mile there were no obstacles but I had to follow a guy on a 4 wheeler on a narrow dirt road, it was very dusty. it didn't take long for me to get lost because after the second obstacle which was a dirt/mud wall climb, the guys told me to go left when I was suppose to go right. There were a whole bunch of obstacles like wall climbs, hurdles, tire runs, mud crawls under chicken wire, fire hoses to clean you off, and just a crap load of mud. I won the race.... but I timed it on my garmin and I ran just over 2 miles in a little over 11 minutes. When they told me to go the wrong way it cut a whole mile off the course. There were no official results because they weren't timing it. There were 4 waves of people that ran, and since I finished so early and didn't run the whole course I decided to run it again and get even dirtier. I didn't time it the second time because it was just for fun. If I had to guess I finished it in high 16's of low 17's. It was hard to push myself because the second time around the course was really crowded and I had to wait for other people to go over the obstacles, but I did the best I could. So I ended up running over 5 miles on the course then did a 2 mile cool down.
